AGENDA OF UNODC

Tackling Afghanistan's Narcotics Challenge and the Drug Epidemic

Presenting to you, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

The UNODC Committee stands as the vanguard of the global fight against some of the most insidious threats to humanity. Here, we confront the dark undercurrents of society—drug trafficking, organised crime, corruption, and terrorism—with unwavering resolve and innovative strategies.

Afghanistan faces a significant challenge with narcotics production and a pervasive drug epidemic. The country has a long history of opium cultivation, dating back centuries and is still one of the largest producers of opium in the world. There is a growing drug addiction problem within Afghanistan. Opium, heroin, and other drugs are widely abused, affecting all segments of society, including women and children.

Engage in debate and formulate resolutions bringing together countries of the world to better the situation of Afghanistan’s drug epidemic.
